Thanks to the renewal of its carsharing fleet in Madrid, Free2Move continues to simplify the mobility of citizens by making transport more accessible, denser and sustainable. The Stellantis mobility brand incorporates 100 new units of the Peugeot e-208 model, thus advancing its fleet renewal plan that will be completed by the end of 2021.
The company's strategy in 2021 is based on the continuous improvement of the customer experience through the optimization of the new mobile application, the launch of new mobility solutions and the expansion of the service to other areas of Madrid and municipalities in the region. Free2Move currently has 600 electric cars in its carsharing fleet in Madrid, available to its more than 300,000 customers in the city: Peugeot e-208, Citroën Berlingo and Citroën C-Zero vans.
Expansion of the service area: Alcobendas and Montecarmelo
As of April 7, 2021, Free2Move Carsharing will be available in the municipality of Alcobendas. The Councilor for Safety and Mobility, Aitor Retolaza, has pointed out that "since the entry of this Government Team, a firm commitment has been made to a new model of sustainable mobility". To this end, the Integral Mobility Plan of Alcobendas (PIMA) has been drawn up, which defines the strategy to achieve this goal in the coming years. Retolaza has indicated that “precisely one of them is the implementation of carsharing, so the arrival of Free2Move to our city reinforces this plan, and also at no cost to the City Council".
In addition, the carsharing service area is also expanding to Montecarmelo.
"We are positive. We continue to work to promote smart mobility for all citizens, proof of this is the continuous launch of new mobility services and solutions from Free2Move, the expansion of our service area, the renewal of our fleet of cars and our firm commitment to improve the experience of our users every day," says Ignacio Román, General Manager Free2move Iberia.
Following the rebranding and integration of Emov within Free2Move, the carsharing service is available in Madrid, Paris, Lisbon, Washington DC and, very soon, in Portland. Free2Move's 1.2 million users worldwide have carsharing, car rental, parking, driver service and electric recharging services at their disposal through a single app.
