Making the most out of 3 days in Berlin

There’s one thing you should know: Berlin is the number one city for carsharing. So you’ll find carsharing vehicles parked and ready for use in both airports: Tegel and Schönefeld. Day 1 – Brandenburg Gate, Holocaust Memorial & Tiergarten

Start your day with a delicious Berlin-style brunch at House of Small Wonder. Based in Mitte, it’s perfectly located for a city tour when you’re done. Walk to the Brandenburg Gate (be prepared for large crowds). After that, take your time to visit the Holocaust Memorial, a tribute to the murdered Jews of Europe. Quite an emotional start to your trip, but you won’t regret seeing these impressive sights. At the end of your mini sightseeing tour, take a walk through the beautiful and huge Tiergarten park. For lunch, why not stop for a touristy but essential Currywurst.

Round off your first day in Berlin with a casual dinner by the canal. Paul-Lincke-Ufer is a buzzing area filled with lovely restaurants, and you won’t have trouble finding a delicious meal. Try out Cocolo Ramen, Chicha for Peruvian food or ZOLA for pizza. After dinner, stroll through the Kreuzberg area and grab a refreshing German beer, or 3. Day 2 -Boxhagener Platz, East side gallery, Museum Island and Shopping in Hackescher Markt & Weinmeisterstraße

Start your second day at Boxhagener Platz. Take a walk around this beautiful area and choose one of the cozy cafés for breakfast. Silo Coffee is a highly recommended and well visited place. If you want to check it out, make sure you reserve a table ahead of time. When you’re done, walk to the East Side Gallery where you can see a series of murals painted on some pieces of the Berlin Wall.

If you would like to visit a museum head towards Museum Island in the centre. For the easiest transport take a bike or scooter to go there and choose one of the five impressive museums located directly by the Spree. If you’re not really into museums, wander around the island and enjoy the beautiful architecture. In case you’re not too exhausted already, the area around Hackescher Markt and Weinmeisterstraße has some of the best shops and boutiques in Berlin. Stroll around the shops, stop for a drink and stay in the area for yummy dinner spots too. Try out Chen Che for Vietnamese cuisine or Shiso Burger for a Japanese style burger.

Day 3 – Berlin Wall Memorial and Mauerpark

Start your last day back in Mitte for breakfast. Father Carpenter and Distrikt Coffee are famous places for delicious coffee and morning snacks. Next, head to the visitor center of the Berlin Wall Memorial: something not to miss on your Berlin trip. Located on the Bernauer Straße, you can attend a multimedia exhibition on Berlin’s division and the wall. Afterwards walk towards Eberswalder Straße and there, on the left side on the street you’ll find the famous Mauerpark, best known for its flea market on Sundays. Make sure you don’t miss the little concerts from newcomer bands and the karaoke stage. End your trip with a late lunch on Kastanienallee before you drive back to the airport with Free2Move.
