Frequently Asked Questions
Carsharing is short-term use of a car that is shared amongst a group of people. It is commonly coordinated by, but not restricted to, a company. We refer to these carsharing companies as providers. Carsharing is primarily designed as an extension of the transportation network, providing a service to enhance mobility options.
Free2Move is a carsharing company that aggregates existing carsharing companies on one platform. We support three carsharing types: stationary, free-floating and peer-to-peer. We also give you the option to register for a variety of carsharing providers. Although we do not offer any vehicles of our own, we allow people to explore an endless amount of carsharing options.
Free2Move is completely free - we never charge you. If you choose to register for providers through Free2Move, some providers will charge a small registration fee, and you will be charged directly by the providers.
One-Way providers can be picked-up and dropped-off anywhere within the provider’s business areas. These providers include a variety of cars, bikes, and scooters.
Roundtrip vehicles are picked up and dropped off from a designated station, and are not restricted to business zones.
Each provider has their own fleet of vehicles, and you can choose from hatchbacks, luxury vehicles, smart cars, electric scooters, moving-vans, and electric cars.
After downloading the app, click on the car icon in the upper right corner. Enter your login credentials for each provider that you have an account with. If you haven’t yet, make sure to create a Free2Move account, and have your logins safely saved across devices.

Yes, all you have to do is long-press anywhere on the map. This activates the alert, where you can select your search radius, the duration of your alert, and which providers you want to be notified about. Give it a try!
Currently the only way to track your booking history is through each individual provider. We are working on bringing that feature to you too. Sign up for emails, and be the first to know when we add features.
You can open the vehicles of the providers directly from the app. Just click the Open button that appears on the screen after creating your booking. All other providers give you a membership card. You must tap this card on the windshield censor of your vehicle in order to open it.
Each one-way provider has a business area. Within this business area you are free to park in any legal parking spot. You can see the business zones in the Free2Move app by pressing the button with the business zone symbol on it (business zone button) directly from the map.
